Good times!

After looking forward to the reunion all summer, I can't believe it's over! The night was over far too soon. I had a great time, and it was good to see how everyone's changed....or not! It's especially fun to see the pics on Snapfish (thanks for creating a group room, Cathi!) and compare them to the pics from the 20 year reunion that Bob S. posted there. I wish more classmates could have joined us for the fun. Thanks again for all the hard work, Julie, although you made it seem so effortless. Thanks to John S., who suggested the FW Sports Club, which turned out to be the perfect place for our reunion. Thanks for the nametags and blown up yearbook pages, Cheryl and Bob D. And I even want to thank the surly bartender who I had fun hassling all night! (Thanks also to Linda (Palmer) Stenger's husband, Chip, who told everyone where to go....ha ha) Do we have to wait 5 more years??

Pictures!

Class of '83,

Instead of sending me all your photos from the reunion, you can now upload them yourselves on snapfish.com. Cathi (Diagostino) Steinacker has set up an account for all of us to use. If you don't already have an account with Snapfish, it is very simple to do (name, email, password). I have added the link on the homepage of our blog and the code is blhs83. If you have any problems uploading your photos or viewing the photos, let me or Cathi know. Good luck!

Reunion!!

The 25th Class reunion is now a memory! What an awesome night it was. The music was rockin', the food was tasty, hugs were everywhere and the beer was flowin'!!! The only problem....the night went by too fast! There were 53 classmates in attendance....thanks to all of you for attending. I'm pretty sure a good time was had by all!

If you had a camera with you, get your pictures to me via email or snail mail. I would love to put them all together on a DVD so that everyone can see them. I will also get a picture or two posted here on the blog.

Thanks........Julie

Hi to Everyone =)

I have been wanting to sit down and write something on here to everyone, but getting my profile finished was about as far as I have gotten.

It has been awesome hearing from Julie and Sandi on the reunion's updates, from who is coming to who hasn't been found yet. I wish I was on the list to be attending, but if any of you know anything about air travel, you will know the things are changing daily.

I do have my tickets booked however for my daughter to fly out here the week after the reunion and then we are flying back together, so I can see her off to college on Aug 26. I will be back from the 21-27 so I can see my son play a game at Homestead and take Taylor to IU the day before I fly out. Hopefully during that short and quick time I'm there I can meet with Sandi and get the scoop on how things went!! =)

Thanks to Julie and everyone else involved, for all the effort of putting things together, following up and keeping things updated for us that cannot make it, it has been a pleasure seeing profiles and reading about the people I spent 4 years of my life with in the 80's!! =)

I hope everyone has a wonderful time and do some dancing for me!!!
XOXOXOX
Stacey

How Is Everbody???

Hope everyone is well!! Can you believe it has been 25 years? My mind still feels young, but my body feels old....I remember when I thought my parents were real old when they were 50.
50 doesn't seem so old anymore.......

Can't wait to see everybody and catch up!

Tim Roberts

I ran across Tim Roberts' profile on classmates.com yesterday and thought I would post it so you could see what he has been up to for the past 25 years! jbk

"Here it is—Timothy's authorized biography.
So, after I moved to New Mexico I graduated and moved out on my own. I did various jobs, worked in a couple of factories, managed a Domino's Pizza, worked in a bank. I got married and divorced then married again to my current wife. We have three boys, the youngest of which just turned 18 and the oldest just turned 23 and has had his first son - making me a grandfather. I joined the Navy as an Electronics Technician back in 1989 and have been in the service ever since. I have been all over the world and seen a lot of places, people, cultures, and countries. I've seen two wars in Persian Gulf and am going to be headed back in a few months. I got the pleasure of living in beautiful Hawaii for 7 years and have been trying to get back since I had to leave due to duty station change to California. I earned my AA degree in Computer Science - Networking and my BA in Business Management. If you are from Bishop Luers and want to contact me you can email me at:tjroberts(at)san(dot)rr(dot)com (the 'at sign' and the 'dots' spelled out because classmates doesn't like people to put their personnal emails down. Email from Timo Nuolivirta

I received this email from Timo and thought I would share it with all of you......

Hi Julie,

Stuart got my attention via my rarely-seen-cousin and my in-the-middle-of-Europe-living-brother. That was kind of a surprise, since I haven´t heard anything across the Atlantic about 20 or so years. I have not been in contact with my family in US after I left there, maybe couple of letters. I've been thinking about you guys at times though, even visiting there has acrossed my mind, but time for that I haven't had.
So, after graduating there I spent few years in school back here to graduate in my local high school in Seinäjoki, little town in middle of western Finland.
After that I went to military school for a year, that is semi-oblicatory among males and voluntary among females in Finland.
Thereafter, I have been studing, again and again and again... really. The first again ment studing to be a medical doctor (6 yr.), next to be specialised in psychiatry (another 6 yr) and last to graduate in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy (4 more years).
At the same time and after those I've been working in a mental crisis-center in Tampere, town of about same size as Fort Wayne, in the middle of Finland for some 4 to 5 years till I got back to Seinäjoki about 4 years ago. Now I've been the director of the psychiatic community outpatient clinic in Seinäjoki for a couple of years ( the job that I dislike shitload, but what the heck, that's only a job).

Well, I have had a little time to do some pleasurable things too...breed for instance! I got married with my college in the mid 90's and since then we have got 3 children (2 daughters and 1 son) so far and at least one more seems to be coming according to what my wife looks like, soon, actually about the time you guys spend some time together in august in reunion!?

Well, that's about all that came to my mind at the time. Thank you Stuart for digging me up. Have a nice time in reunion and send my best to everyone. (Special regards I would like to send to those two fellows in the german class with whom I went to Canada back some hundred years ago...I don't remember their names, sorry. And to those sisters, Dawn and ??, from Decatur who were very kind to drive me up to school every day back then.)

We had in Seinäjoki 20-years reunion at the local high school three years ago. For what I remember of it, they were a big success...

By for now. I would love to hear from you more, and since the door has now opened, you are very wellcome to inform this story of mine to your blog or what ever reaches the 83's class of BLHS.

Reunion Update

The invitations have been mailed so hopefully you will receive yours any day now. If by chance you don't receive one (or talk to someone from our class who doesn't), please let me know and I'll mail one out ASAP. We don't want to miss anyone!

I want to clarify a question regarding the current photo of yourself (and your family) that we requested on the RSVP card. The photo can be mailed to me along with your RSVP card or a digital photo can be emailed to me. Whichever way is more convenient for you is fine with me.

I want to thank everyone who volunteered to help with the reunion. Almost everyone who replied (or that I talked to) was willing to help if needed. I appreciate everyone's willingness to lend a hand! We have a great committee working on our 25th reunion! We hope you all plan to attend and reconnect with your former (notice I didn't say "old"!!) classmates.

Any questions, please let us know.

Great Idea Julie

Julie:

Great job on getting the blog up and running. I personally have never messed with one of these, but it seems perfect for reunions.

Thanks for all of your help with the reunion this year even though you're making me feel old. I currently have two kids at Bishop Dwenger adding to my age concerns. Hard to believe 25 years.

You should be able to track down Jennifer Habig at the Fort Wayne Merrill Lynch office. If she is no longer there ask for her brother Greg and he can give you her whereabouts.

Thanks to everyone who has given me address leads on missing classmates. The list is getting smaller! I'm still looking for the following classmates. If you have any information (even if it's just what state they are living in!), please let me know.
Thanks!

Thanks Julie!

Hey, Julie, just wanted to thank you for all the time and effort you have put in already for the 25 year reunion. It will be a blast to see everyone!

What's Stuart been doing?

Hi, gang! It's me, Stuart L. Sexton. Many of you may be wondering what I've been doing since our last reunion, besides working at Meijer. Well, I'll tell ya! I've been busy writing and self publishing! That's right, I'm an author! If you go to http://www.lulu.com/ and type in Stuart Sexton in the search engine, you can see what I mean. You can also go to myspace.com/frontierzone to check things out. You can also do a Google search for my products. Just do a search for Stuart Sexton's Storefront or Frontier Zone. The Role-playing Game Of The Future, or for Frontier Zone. Beginnings. (Hopefully Frontier Zone. Ticonderoga will be up in Google soon.) I hope to see everyone at the reunion!

Sorry. I was carried away, and didn't mean this to sound like spam. I've edited this by deleting the samples from my store front.

Update: I'm also now a Consultant w/Tastefully Simple. Yey!

Update: I'm now very happy to inform everyone, I'm now in a loving relationship with my best friend, Helen Schall! We've been best friends for more than a decade now, And I finally realize how much she means to me, and she agrees that the feeling is mutual. (The truth is, at 44 years of age, I've finally grown up. She's been there, right in front of me for 14 years now. I just had to step back to notice how much love she has shown me over the years. But, thanks be to God, she's been loving and patient with me.)

Reunion

Class of '83:
I have made this blog for our class. Hopefully it will be a way for all of us to stay in touch. I thought it would also be a good way to keep everyone updated on the reunion planning. Let me know what you think and spread the word.....
